The Felician Sisters of North America continue on a most remarkable journey in faith in the service of God’s people—a journey nearly two centuries in the making.
With origins in nineteenth century Poland in service to the poor and afflicted, the Felician Franciscan Sisters responded to rising social concerns in North America, forging a history
of compassionate and merciful service that has spanned the past 135 years.
Today, our mission is no less vital; our journey, no less dynamic. For today, the need is
just as great.
Rooted in prayer and centered in the Eucharist that energizes and guides us, we are dedicated to the selfless service of the elderly, the infirm, the poor, individuals with profound disabilities, and to our youth.
You will find us in service to God’s people throughout the continent, ministering in schools and hospitals, to the underprivileged and underserved, and in defense and support of the dignity of all human life.
The journey continues.
On November 21 of 2009, the Felician Sisters of North America marked a new milestone in their history with the establishment of a new North American province, Our Lady of Hope. In an historic installation ceremony, eight former provinces throughout the United States and Canada united into one. The new province will be headquartered in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.
In light of these exciting changes, we are currently redesigning our web site in order to bring you the latest news about our Sisters and their work throughout North America.
We invite you to visit our site in the coming weeks to learn more about our mission and ministries!
