“Return to me with your whole heart, with fasting…”
In the past few years, many faith communities have been calling for a “Carbon Fast” during Lent to raise awareness of how each of us is complicit in the degradation of our earth. Pope Benedict’s New Year’s message calls us “to examine our life-style…which is often unsustainable from a social, environmental and even economic point of view” we will be offering a suggestion each day during Lent to help us reflect on how we contribute to Climate Change and on how we may decrease our carbon footprint.
This year let us give up a little carbon for Lent along with the chocolate!
