President Obama is scheduled to host a bipartisan healthcare summit on Thursday, February 25. As Catholic citizens of the United States we need to do all we can to ensure that all children, women and men have access to the care and medicine they need to enable them to live with dignity. In the past few days we have heard on the news how insurance companies are raising premiums. This will only exclude many more people access to affordable healthcare. We need to put pressure on Congress to pass legislation that will fix our broken healthcare system and ensure affordable healthcare for all.

I am concerned about the fact that insurance companies are raising their premiums. This will exclude many people access to affordable healthcare. In my family I have a niece, her husband and two nephews who have lost their jobs due to the recession. Soon they will have to start paying for healthcare or go without. In our country, we are sending billions to other countries to fight their battles, but cannot find it in our “BUDGET” to help those who are without healthcare. Why can’t our representative/senators work together to formulate a bill which can take care of our own people in the USA?
Let us join together in seeking the Lord to
guide those who are working on the health care reform, that it will be available for ALL!! We find money for so many other things, however, this it is crucial that the representatives and senate work together and make a bill available and affordable for all the people in this great country, The USA!
