Google G20 and you can observe and listen to people demonstrating in the streets:Aborignal People, migrant workers, refugees, immigrants, students and many other thoughtful citizens are there to remind the Leaders of the G20, that their concerns are put aside in favor of control by the rich corporate powers. The billion dollars spent on hosting this summit and providing the security is an obscene waste of taxpayers money and could have been used to address the needs of people both in Canada and in other countries.

Many people are praying right now for the leak to stop – the government and the corporation have not even mentioned to the nation to pray – it is as if God does not exist. This is disturbing – many locals are praying – I am deeply concerned because the cycle of life is all part of the life chain. I will go to the Franciscan site and there are many of us praying at 9:00 p.m. however you wish to pray for God’s intercession – if you believe you can move mountains and that includes oil leaks and dying animals and marshlands wasted. I am so proud of our community for responding to such great needs so quickly. As we see the response of the Sisters to minister in other poor and needy areas I can’t but help to think of Blessed Angela’s desire to travel the world to bring God’s word to all people. Four Felician Sisters are planning to participate in a rally in New Jersey on Saturday, May 1, in support of a humane, just, and comprehensive Immigration Policy. God did not make boundaries and as Catholic Americans we believe that EVERY person has a right to live with justice and dignity.
